Led/ has led

Hi,
Whitney Houston sings: '... every road that I've taken led to my regret...'
Would present perfect 'has led' be possible instead of simple past? How would the meaning change?
My best regards

'Regret' is the sum total of all the past experiences - the roads she has taken - and these still lead and link to present regret, ie the consequences are still present. That's how I figure that present perfect would be possible.

Ah, OK—that seems reasonable, then.
