Leave letter for attending Brothers Marraiage.. Pls Help me to Correct

Please help me to correct the following format, since i need to apply for leave to attend brothers marraige
Sir
I am glad to inform you that my Brother’s marriage has been fixed on 01/24/2010. Most of the work related to marriage has to be completed by me. I will be grateful if you could grant me 6 days leave from January 18th to January 26th 2010
