Leave it to a man...

hi All,

1) How to understand the sentence 'leave it to a man to not know the difference.' in this conversation?

A:You have to go out with her.

Otherwise, she's going to be suspicious,

and I don't want to give her ammunition that she could use against us.

B:We are not at war,

We're in a relationship.

A:Yeah, leave it to a man to not know the difference.
