Leave it as is or Leave it as it is

Should I say write, "Leave it as is" or "Leave it as it is"?

If both are possible, would you please give me some examples in which it is appropriate to use each of them?

Thank you.

You will hear "Leave it as is", but that is a mistake made by people who can't tell the difference between "as is", which means "with whatever flaws it may have" and "as it is", which means "in its present condition". "

It's your choice. 'it' is optional.
