Hi, could you please tell me which of the following sentences are correct?

Last night I learnt irregular verbs for about two hours.

Last night I was learning irregular verbs for about two hours.

I learnt to drive for three months.

I was learning to drive for three months.

Thank you. Does it mean that the I cannot use the sentences I learnt to drive for three months or I was learning to drive for three months? Why are they incorrect?

Many students seem to want to use 'learn' in that way, but my feeling is that 'learning' is an internal event that occurs only after training. 'I learnt to drive in 3 months' is a reasonable statement, meaning that at the end of 3 months I knew how to drive. With 'I learnt to drive for 3 months', however seems odd to me, since the learning is the result of the training and not the
