Learning new words:

I'm a teacher I need to be up-to-date . My boss thinks I need to improve my speaking and also need to learn some new words .I always spend most of my time learning Idioms,expressions and slang. But it's so hard for me to learn new words. Can't remember them. so what do you advise me to do ?

Try compiling in a word document the words and definitions you especially have trouble remembering and include example sentences or phrases. Take at least 10 minutes a day to review the document. It may help to define some of the words and idioms in your own words rather than those of a dictionary.

When I was in grade school, we would write a new word five times and then write a sentence using it.
