Learning more about phonology

Hi all,

I was wondering if I can improve my pronuncaition. Also, I would like to learn more about Phonology because I am not that good at it. You see, I am a student of English Literature and phonology is important in my studies.

So, if anyone could help and pehaps provide me with the "right tools", I would be thankful.

I hope I didn't take a lot of you time. Thanks

Hi, well, if you want to learn more about phonology, you should... study phonology? You could read some introductory phonology books, or you could learn a bit from the interenet too (on Wikipedia or on some other websites).

  • If your problem is pronunciation, you might need an accent reduction course.
  • Accent reduction courses are basically very simple kinds of phonology books aimed at non-native speakers (you will find the basics and you'll learn them implicitely, but you won't learn any phonology technical terms or anything in a "rigorous" way).
