Learning english grammar

I am currently studying Russian and I am finding it very hard to learn without a good basic knowledge of english grammar (which sadly was not on my school curriculum). What I would like is an easily understandable way to learn the different cases ie: nominative, genitive, dative, accusative, instrumental and prepositional. Any suggestions very gratefully received!!!

  • It might be helpful if you could track the series down, even if you can't find a book specifically for students of Russian.
  • German might be the closest, in terms of complexity of grammar.

(Not everyone would agree with that last sentence, but it's certainly true in my opinion.)
