Learning english

hi,
I want to be good in english writing. I hope someone will help me understanding, when I shall use the -ING in the end. I know -ING are put in the end of the verb, when we are talking about now. But I am confused, because that isn't always right now. Or is it?

That is right if the -ing verb is preceded by a present form 'be': 'I am dancing' means right now. If you use the past form of 'be', then you have a verb whose action was in the past: 'I was dancing'. In both cases, the -ing form shows that the action was continuing for some time– it was not an instantaneous event.
