"learn in your speech"?

I was reading a book about teaching meditation to kids. In the book, the author says,

"Derivative of Native American councils and other contemplative traditions, the Council
program was adapted for classroom use by Jack Zimmerman from the Ojai Foundation in California.
The council format is well suited to mindful awareness practice. Its four intentions-speak
from the heart, listen from the heart, be lean in your speech, and be spontaneous-encourage
kids to develop their own voices and trust themselves."

What does "learn in your speech" means in this context? Thank you for your answer in advance.
