Leak away

Hi,

When you study for an exam and forget everything afterwards, can the verb ‘leak away’ be used or would you go for something else?

Thank you.

"Leak away" is good. It is not a standard expression or phrasal, in case you thought it might be, since you called it a verb, but it is fine nonetheless, especially if you need to extend the metaphor. I guess the usual word with memory is "fade", "fade away".
