Top answer

pathway leading off to the left = pathway which leads off to the left If a path "leads" to a place, then it means that you can reach that place by following the path. In this case the path "leads" not to a specific individual place, but just generally to a region to the left of the speaker. The word "off" enhances the sense of divergence.

These mean more or less the same. As I mentioned, the word "off" enhances the sense of divergence (of one path, or possible route, from another). It may also make a slightly more idiomatic-sounding sentence.
