Top answer

Ghadafi has been leading Libya for 41 years but, he fails to make the people wealth. I'd suggest "Ghadafi has been THE LEADER OF Libya for 41 years, but has FAILED to make the people WEALTHY". More concisely: "Ghadafi, the leader of Libya for 41 years, has failed to make his people wealthy".

  • Ghadafi has been leading Libya for 41 years but, he fails to make the people wealth.
  • I'd suggest "Ghadafi has been THE LEADER OF Libya for 41 years, but has FAILED to make the people WEALTHY".
  • More concisely: "Ghadafi, the leader of Libya for 41 years, has failed to make his people wealthy".
  • FAILS is present tense, it's more idiomatic to say that he HAS FAILED, past tense.
  • So far, he HAS FAILED.
