'lay'/'lie' dilemma

I gave my best responses below. Which are wrong? Thanks.

1) He lie in wait for his prey. (Wrong)

2) He lies in wait for his prey.

(Correct.)

3) He lay in wait for his prey. (In the past; as much as just a second ago.)

4) He lay down. (a second ago)

5) He lies down. (Now)

6. He lie down. (Wrong)

7. He lies (rests) or lays (places) his head on the pillow-- are both correct? They each technically make sense in their own right, no?)

8) the dangers that lie ahead (OK?)

9) the danger that lies ahead

(OK?)
