Law Office vs Law Offices

I would like to know the difference between using "The Law Office of John Doe" versus "The Law Offices of John Doe". I thought it meant a single office versus multiple offices, but I have seen that it is used indiferently. Single practitioners with one office call themselves "Law Offices" on some occasions and "Law Office" in others. I will start my practice soon and would like to have the correct term. Thanks!

I think that using the plural is just a kind of aggrandizement: it makes the firm sound bigger. It should be reserved for partnerships, not sole practitioners.
