Law Discussion board rules

I have wrote the following rules for a law discussion board which I set up recently and would like to have your opinion if everything is okay (please correct me if I have any language mistakes) Thank you very much.

Here is what I wrote:

"Welcome!

By posting on the discussion board you agree to abide by the following rules:

1. Be polite to all members.
2. Do not use offensive language or harass other members.
3. Do not place advertisements.
4. Do not post copyrighted material.

Please note that I do my best to remove threads which contravene the above rules, I am not responsible however for the content of any posts on this board.

Thank you

I hope you enjoy your stay."

Hi guys,

I do my best to remove threads which contravene the above rules;

Contravene sounds fine to me, particularly for use with a bunch of lawyers. 'Comply' is no good, it basically has the opposite meaning.

Best wishes, Clive

Thanks, Clive!

Hi Sony,

I didn't say "contravene" was wrong, just that we don't use the term much down here, and I'm wondering if this is used more often elsewhere.
