Launch or launching

There's a phrase in a movie about Steve Jobs (in which he is portrayed by Michael Fassbender) where he is in a row with Wozniak, and he says "It's a launch, not a launching". The thing is, I've been trying to look up the difference between those two terms, but my efforts have been futile. Anyone that saw the movie cares to explain the meaning of these terms, and what the difference is?
