'Lately'

Hello,

Is'lately' used correctly in this sentence? Woud it be better to use 'recently?"

Have you bought/ did you buy any new outfits lately?

"Have you bought any new outfits recently?" - good. "... lately?" is probably more natural in casual speech.

I think in the negative and interrogative, "lately" and "recently" are pretty much interchangeable.
In affirmative sentences, it seems to me that there's more of a difference between them.
I would use 'lately' when I was talking about states or repeated activities particularly with present perfect continuous.
