late or latest work?

My apologies for the  technical jargon (philosophy), can you please please help me with the underlined word?
Should it be late or latest ?
Is it overall the paragraph correct?

"The paper aims to show that a spectral interpretation of reality, though fragmentary, can be uncovered in Derrida's late contributions concerning cinema and television."

Thanks for your help!!!!

In that sentence (not paragraph), "late" means nothing more than "recent". "Latest" confines it to the most recent ones. The thinking behind the sentence is unclear.

Thanks a lot Enoon! Could you please help me to improve it?
The meaning I should convey is 'works produced in the age of maturity" and I thought that "a late contribution/work" might apply. If not, what do you think will do?
As to "though fragmentary", do you think that "although fragmentary" sounds better? Or perhaps shall I change its position in the sentence?
