A little little question.

HE IS LATE OF the 7th cavalry

Does "he's late mean" HE IS THE LAST OF THE 7th cavalry.

Used to be, but recently, right?
We can't say of a 75 year old, "He is late of Stanford University" if the last time he attended Stanford he was 24 years old. But we can say "He used to play football at Stanford University", can't we?
