Grammar

Lastest vs the latest

Could you please correct these 2 sentences?

Would you reword them totally or would you keep them as is?

Is the and long optional?

better with or without?

The tennis match that finished (the) latest in tournament history was 4:34 am. I had never seen a match run this long/late.

The tennis match that lasted the longest

in tournament history was 6 hours and 32

minutes (long).

Thank you
