Last question about this grammar.

Tom is watching TV, while he is eating snack.

-> Tom, who is eating snack, is watching TV.

This is the last question about non-defining relative clauses for sure, so please help me out.

Do you think "while he" can be converted to , who like "and he, but she,etc" can be converted to ",who".

Do you think "while he" can be converted to , who like "and he, but she,etc" can be converted to "who"?-- I don't know about 'and he / but she'. I hope you understand that #2 is not a conversion of #1. The thrusts of the sentences are different. Howe

Really? I am so confused again...Okay here are some examples.

Tom is my friend and he is from the USA -> Tom, who is from the USA, is my friend. ----Okay

Tom is watching TV while he is eating a snack. -> Tom, who is eating a snack, is watching TV.--- Not

Tom is my friend and he is from the USA -> Tom, who is from the USA, is my friend. ----Okay -- Yes, OK as an equivalent because 'and' is a coordinating conjunction.

Tom is watching TV while he is eating a snack. -> Tom, who is eating a snack, is watching TV.--- Not okay?-- No, not OK, because 'while' is a subordinating conjunction.
