Large/wide

Is there anybody who can explain me whether use "large" or "wide" if we are talking about a flat surface? like a scanner, for instance?
thank you very very much

'Large' refers to both dimensions of a plane surface; 'wide' refers to only one dimension. Sorry, don't know how it applies to a scanner, though.
