Large traps made out of steel and mesh

Matt Wright and his crew build and set large traps made out of steel and mesh. They have to be strong enough to hold a crocodile but light enough to be transported by helicopter.

Is it right to understand the bolded part in the above as "large traps made of steel and nets?" Thanks.
