Large shopping malls are replacing small shops. Do you think it is a positive or negative development?
Today, enormous shopping stores are increasingly popular while the number of small shops decreases. To my way of thinking, this is a positive trend due to the benefits that we get from bigger shops.
First of all, we will have more choices to buy things as large shops always sell the variety of goods and purchases with different prices and decoration. Therefore, it is easy for us to seek for our favorite things with affordable prices which is right to our purposes. The shops thereby are going to attract more people to shop there. As a result, they will become more profitable. Furthermore, governments also benefit from the taxes of things that are bought by shoppers. People, especially women, prefer shopping in sizable shops, so it means that they have to pay for taxes more when purchasing. The governments can utilize the amount of the levy to run the country and solve national problems more smoothly since they get supports indirectly from big shopping malls.
Second of all, large stores also have a great impact on the economics of a country. Without any doubt, when the building is enormous, it needs more employees in various positions to work and serve the customers. Hence, the graduates find it comfortable and satisfying to apply for any vacancies that they like such as clerks, accountants, waitresses, managers, waiters and cashiers which makes the rate of unemployment rapidly fall. More importantly, huge plazas may rise the residents’ living standard in the city. They have to sell high-quality and reliable products to keep their true fame, so anyone can buy anything without feeling scared of being cheated. Thus, people live more happily and satisfactorily.
Overall, I claim that vast shopping centers positively influence any country and its residents a lot because of the reasons above.
