Hi. Do we need to use the phrases "large numbers" and "large quantities" in plural if we want to denote each of them for no. 1 and no. 2 being purchased in large numbers and large quantities in the following example sentences? I hope my question is clear. Anyway, thank you in advance for your help.
1. They purchased large numbers of pencils and erasers today.
2. They purchased large quantities of salt and cooking oil today.
