Imagine a student of English asks you the following. How would you respond?

a) How do you answer the phone in English?
b) What is the correct spelling: specialise or specialize?
c) What is the past of must?
d) Why can you say I’m absolutely furious but not I’m absolutely angry?

the first thing we must keep in mind when answering these types of questions is:

Regarding the first question, "appropriate language" having in mind the situation, is informal or informal setting. It would be convenient to know from the student's context that makes him/her to ask that question.

In the case of the second question, depending on what type of students normally L2 students are the kind who normally asks this questions about differences like these of the aforementioned question so for them covering both British and American English spellings is necessary.

For the third, it also depends on the level of the students and previous knowledge about the topic but it will be necessary to explain them that If we wish to express the past sense of a modal verb, we have to do so by other means. In the case of must we use, had to, to express the past tense of must. Examples are important to illustrate the use.

The fourth, again having in mind the level of students and perhaps to teach what is considered everyday English for the practical purposes, considering what is most useful according to their level unless very advanced learners.

You discover that all the answers are copied verbatim from responses on a web site where native speakers have posted answers to your assignment questions. How would you respond?

Of course to know the answer you have to read from some sources, but to say that someone copied verbatim from a web site just because that does not provide satisfaction to some people's mind  has a name: underestimate.

number 1) This is not homework or assignment like some assumed
2) this was only something that I was reading and I wanted to know the opinion of others
3) You can check the text in a plagiarism checker and the only phrase that you'll find like no mine or that is found similar from a source is "If we wish to express the past sense of a modal verb, we have to do so by other means" but for ***'s sake is that complex verbatim?

I don't think there are any right or wrong answers to these questions. They are only asking how you would consider students' questions. Of course, you need to take their knowledge and level into consideration.

For the first, I would design a role-play session "answering the phone" for a variety of situations. How would they answer in their native language? What is the corresponding response in English?

For the second, I would make a lesson on using a dictionary. Many dictionaries have the alternate spellings. Also, they might have spelling or speech pattern variations between regions or countries in their own native language.
