Language and Prejudice?

Hi.
I have been asked to work on the subject of Language and Prejudice. I'm afraid of getting out of subject, for this area of work suggests a lot of interpretations. If I choose to tuckle the idea of how the notion of prejudice can impact a language, would I be out of subject? Thank you in advance.

A competent supervisor wouldn't tell you that. Have you actually asked?
