He's just a large body that crowds the lane. Or

He's just a large body that crowds the lanes.

Or both sentences are good?

to me, the first one sounds more correct, as the "lane" is a specific part of the court, and lanes is never used to refer to the paint.

In #1, he crowds one lane. In #2, more than one lane.

Are you perhaps talking about a swimming pool?
