Laid and layed

Another question.. is it "The dog laid on the bed or layed on the bed? I laid down or I layed down?

lay , actually. (There is no 'layed' in English. ) The dog lay on the bed.

lay, actually.

(There is no 'layed' in English. If you have spell-checker on, it will flag it as a mistake.)

The dog lay on the bed. I lay down.
(intransitive 'to lie')
But:
I laid the pillows on the bed. The hen laid two eggs.
(transitive 'to lay')
