Labor pains

Hello,

As far as I know, the usual word that is used to refer to a painful contracting of muscles when a woman is giving birth to a baby is 'contraction', but how often do you use; labor/birth/dilating pains and parodynia?

Thanks

Hi, Asa non-medical male, I seldom say anything about this. But if I did, I'd probably speak of pains or contractions. Clive

Parodynia is the medical term for labour pains. Normally, not used by general public.
