KONTROLL: Brilliant Hungarian film

Haven't been here for a long time as I'm concentrating more on my own things, and am taking a short time off writing as I am waiting to see how my latest screenplay is doing in a competition I entered, and also still working on my main film.
But I had to come back to tell you about the AWESOME film I saw last night, a Hungarian beautiful film called Kontroll. I know you guys in America don't tend to see many foreign-language movies because the distributors tend to show far too many blockbusters, but if you get the chance to see this one DO IT!
I watched it last night on DVD.

If it had been nominated for a foreign-language Oscar I think "The Sea Inside" may have been in trouble!
It's about subway ticket inspectors on the Metro in Budapest, Hungary. It's a top film, with something for everyone: tenderness, romance, a real black humour that I always love, and a storming soundtrack (similar to "Run Lola Run"'s) that makes some of the chase scenes even more exciting. There are fights, there are really lovely inspirational tender moments. There are a couple of gruesome scenes (but nothing near as bad as we'd watch in any Tarantino movie) but these are few and far between (one near the start, one in the middle) and to be honest it's family viewing.
Great action - and no special effects in the one "tunnelrun" scene, all done for real. Outstanding. And I went to bed last night feeling very good, very inspired, very happy.
Out here in the UK in Hungarian with English subtitles. http://dvd.monstersandcritics.com/reviews/article 6218.php/DVD Review Kontroll

If possible, see it in the cinema though! I wish I'd had!

I very much liked it too. The director, of Hungarian origin, was born and raised in L.A., strangely enough.

Oh, I definitely think he was real. The hero is not a malicious person. Personally I think the "pusher" is meant to be the head honcho who fires him (after all, he also knows all about the camera angles, and also he has a r
