Knowing that

Is this sentence correct?
How would you use 'knowing that'?
Are these correct?
Knowing he wouldn't come, she made other plans.
Knowing he wouldn't come, she would make other plans.

I've never heard it use in the present tense or future tense.
Here you are talking about the future. The person says he is going to come, but since you know him well, you know he isn't.

Knowing he's not going to come, I'm going to have to make other plans.
