Know or knew
I've been having some confusion regarding to the usage of these two words. When do i use know or knew? Does it mean that when i use "knew" it indicates that i do know that particular thing at that point of time but not now? Below i include some examples for your understanding of my confusion.
Example : 1. I know him since primary school.
2. I knew him since primary school.
Example : 3. I knew what he was going to do but i didn't report it to the authorities.
4. I know what he was going to do but i didn't report it to the authorities.
Which sentences are correct? Can you please interpret the meaning of each question if all are correct.
