know better

Is the use of 'know better' correct in this sentence? Is the first sentence natural?

The doctor won't know better than an MRI. Let's just get an MRI instead of going to the doctor over and over again.

Thank you

Interesting question, since an MRI requires a doctor’s request and the wait times in Canada are much longer than for seeing a doctor. However, it’s unlikely but not unnatural. It is grammatical.

The first sentence is neither correct nor natural. I think the sense is

"The doctor won't know more until he sees the results of an MRI."

The second sentence is correct, but I don't think it captures the sense, which I'm guessing is

"Let's ask your current doctor for an MRI instead of going from doctor to doctor for new consultations."

If you have had an MRI, and the doctor wants to see you again, and in context you say

The doctor won't know better than an MRI. Let's skip the consultation.

or

This would never be asked but from a grammatical standpoint is it natural?
Would you rather see a doctor now or have an MRI?
The doctor won't know better than an MRI so let's go for the latter.
