Know

Hello,

I have a question about using "know" with an innanimate object.

Is the following grammatically correct?

Do you know this toy?
Do you the the NY Yankees?
Do you know this dog?

I would say: Do you know about this toy? or Do you know who the NY Yankees are? etc....

This is a common practice that is taught in English Grammar books in Japan.

I also have another question:

I would never have done that. I would have never done that.

Are both correct?

Thank you,
