Knitting a pullover sweater

Pointing towards the young woman in the back seat the cop says,"And her, what is she doing?"

The young man shrugs, "Sir, I believe she's knitting a pullover sweater."

HI,

What does a pullover sweater refer to? And what is it used for? Thanks.

Top answer

It is just a sweater with no buttons or zipper; to put it on, you pull it over your head.

What's the rest of the story? It sounds familiar, but I can't quite place it.

(It's apparently not the same story as the one in which a woman is knitting while driving a car. A cop rides by and yells "Pull over!" The woman responds, "No, it's a cardigan!")

(A cardigan sweater is one that opens like a jacket, with buttons or a zipper.)

Hi,

To me, a pullover is a knitted, sleeveless sweater with a vee neck.

The woman sitting down here is wearing a blue one.

Thanks, my helpful mentors.

I'm afraid to post the rest of the story here because it's kind of an adult joke!

Hi, my mentors.

On second thought, it's more a joke than a dirty story, so I decide to post it here:

LOVERS LANE

A cop was patrolling late one night in a well-known spot called, "Lovers' Lane." He sees a couple in a car, with the interior light brightly glowing.
