Hi!

Can you tell me the name in English of an object that has three/two plates?It is used to put scones,sandwiches and cakes for teatime.

I would expect a cake stand to have just one level. I think the term needed is "a two-tiered (or three-tiered) tea tray." (Which is a bit of a tongue-twister!)

In my country that object is "old-fashioned".In Portugal some people used to put fruit instead.I'm preparing a tea party for my students and I didn't know what to call it.In England there are lots of them specially in tearooms.I've never been interested in that till now...
