Kindly review my IELTS Task 2 essay, about children

Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society. Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

In this era of recurring world crises, it is indispensable to engender our new generation with good qualities of behaviourism. Some people opine that this should be taught by parents, whilst others believe that it is the duty of their teachers at school. In my opinion, parents and teachers have different responsibilities at various stages of an individual’s childhood.

To start with, parents are considered as the primary source of education to an infant. During the early stages of a kid's life, father and mother play an important role in developing the character of a child. For example, in the public education system, schooling starts only at the age of 5, until which parents can cultivate some etiquette in their progenies. Secondly, studies show that children merely imitate the actions of their parents. Therefore, parents can easily imprint such qualities on youngsters.

On the other hand, teachers at schools are well qualified and educated to train their students to be good characteristics in their social life. For example, education system in India for the age group 5 to 10, focus on social activities along with academic learning, to develop their social skills. In addition to that, schools are the best place for youngsters to socialize with other fellow-students and thereby learning how to behave with their classmates.

In conclusion, considering the role of both parents and teachers in developing social skills among youth, I could say both held equal responsibilities to foster our descendants. When basic lessons of good mannerism can be taught to a child by parents at home, teachers can enhance these features in them by giving proper coaching at schools.
