Kindly review my (IELTS) essay on youth crime. Thanks

Currently, crimes committed by young people are on the increase.

What are the causes of this? And what solutions can parents and teachers adopt?

It is believed that illegal activities of young adults are increasing substantially. A lack of strict punishment and support from parents are the two main reasons of this problem. There are various ways by which this can be mitigated.

Most parents usually fulfill all wishes of their children and do not teach them difference between right and wrong. Even if their sons or daughters are found guilty in any wrongdoing, instead of punishing them they support them without realizing its long term impact on their lives. In Saudi Arabia, for example, people pay fines for their sons when they commit any illicit activity but do not prefer to send them in juvenile jails. Thus, teenagers commit crimes without any fear. Another key factor of involvement of youth in wrongdoings is that most countries do not administer harsh punishments as they consider them immature. The culprits just get educational lessons including ethics so that they avoid doing any wrongdoing. Therefore, they indulge in various crimes.

There are two effective ways by which this problem can be alleviated. First, parents should refrain from supporting their children when they commit any serious offence. By doing this, teenagers and adolescents will most probably keep themselves away from criminal activities. The youth crime rate in Bombay, the largest city of India, for instance, has reduced from 25% to just 8% recently, and the main reason is these juveniles have not received parents' support. Another way to tackle this issue is schools and colleges should emphasize in curriculum that how committing a crime is detrimental to their career in the long term. In this way, teachers can instill basic moral principles in students' minds.

In conclusion, there is an alarming increase in the illegal activities of young adults that has plagued multitude of countries. Lack of support from parents and proper education in schools and colleges are the two effective remedies to this problem.
