Many people watch news channels and read newspapers daily. And it is argued that news media plays a key role in our society. It is vital because it creates awareness among general public and influences positively on people.

The importance of newspapers and other related mediums emanate from its role in creating awareness among public at large. People get updated information on various issues regularly, meaning that public is informed about the current affairs, including local and international news. According to a recent survey, for example, more than 500 road accidents have been prevented in Maldives as the local news channels broadcast daily weather forecast on every morning. Thus, this evidence supports that news industry plays a crucial role in our lives as it highlights critical issues prevailing in the world.

TV channels broadcasting news and newspapers affect positively on people. This is because they enable public to make informed decisions after taking into account each and every aspect of news. In other words, people can take calculated risks in their respective field whether it is a business or any other occupation. Many Japanese investors, for instance, made substantial gains by trading in oil in 2016. The reason was they were rigorously following international oil price movements on foreign magazines and articles. If they had not read those news articles, they would have made gains.
