Everytime a compere invites someone on stage s/he says, 'May I kindly (or please) request X to come on stage?' Isn't the 'kindly' in the wrong place? Shouldn't it be, 'May I request X to kindly (or please) come on stage?' Placing the 'kindly' before 'request' almost seems like the kindly refers to my action rather than the invitees. I wonder if I am right? Thank you.
