Somebody says the word 'kindly' has an extra meaning which is 'old-fashion'. I'm confused. is it right?

I think there might be some confusion here. "kindly" doesn't mean "old-fashioned", but I think that "kindly" is a rather old-fashioned word sometimes. For example: "Would you kindly send me information about your products?" seems very old-fashioned to me. I would prefer: "I would be grateful if you sent me information about your products"
