Kind regards?

Can I write "with kind regards" at the end of a letter?

It depends who you are writing to. If you are writing a formal letter then no. I would use with kind regards to someone I knew slightly and was friendly with, but not with my close friends or family.

  • For example, my grandmother's friend, if I was thanking her for a birthday present or something like that.

Please more examples of these to be written at the end of a letter for both formal and informal letters and also e-mails!

I've many friends I often e-mail to and also some I snail-mail to but I'm always unsure about what to write down at the end of a letter.
I actually have a look at what they write at the end of a letter and I usually use the same form then but I'd like to know so

Hi guys,

maybe better solution is sentence 'Yours faithfully'? This is formal. It's the standard way to end a formal business letter.
