Kind of a meeting or kind of meeting

Hi. Please help me. What is the difference? I think the version with the phrase "a meeting' after the phrase "kind of" adds emphasis to the oject of the reference, ie the word "meeting," in addition to referring to types or kinds it; whereas the version without the "a" would be referring to the type/kind of the "meeting" without a particular emphasis. I am not sure what I said correctly reflects what I wanted to say, though.

What kind of a meeting would it be?
