Correct me if I am wrong- khakis are brown trousers. Can you please tell me if there is anything else I should know about this word?

Thank you

Khaki's a colour: yellowish-greenish brown. Khakis are trousers worn by soldiers - I think it can also refer to the whole uniform if it's the right colour-. Then, but it's not the same, "kakis" are fruits.

Also a style of trousers for people not in the military! Khaki coloured, loosely based on military but made of ligher materials, cottons even silks, with lots of pockets, can be all sorts of lengths.
