Vocabulary

Kerfuffle and po-faced

Hi

Would you say that these two words are common in spoken English? I heard them both in a movie I recently watched on TV. Are the low register?

Kerfuffle

Po-faced

Thanks,

Tom

Not common. "Kerfuffle" is a humorous word, like "fiddle-faddle". It shows up once in a while, but I doubt most Americans have it in their active vocabulary. "Po-faced" is pretty rare in the US. I can't even remember what it means.
