Are these sentence are correct:
a) "Her hair was well kempt."
b) "Her hair was kempt."
If you go strictly by the dictionary definition then I suppose you could argue that your sentences are correct but in a lifetime of speaking and reading English I don't think I've ever seen 'kempt' used in this fashion. I would find some other way to express the thought.
