Keep/rear/feed-usage

I'm confused about the following :

  1. Mary rears a dog.

  2. Mary keeps a dog.

  3. Mary feeds a dog.
which of them are correct and suitable?

Normally you would just say, "Mary has a dog."

"Rear" is used more for children than animals. You could say, "Mary raises purebred Bulldogs."
"Keep" implies something other than a regular pet -- "The farmer keeps cats to keep mice out of the barn, but they're not house pets."
"Feed" means exactly that. "Mary feeds her dog every morning and evening." "Mary feeds stray cat
