keeping to

Are these few sentences natural? It is for a review.
The NYC guide was amazing. He asked us what we wanted to do while keeping to the original itinerary. It was like the trip was tailored to our liking. Not to say we didn't do what we had planned.

Thank you

What you have written doesn't make total sense to me. On the one hand you're saying that he asked for your suggestions and tailored the trip to suit; on the other you're saying that he kept to the original itinerary. Are those two things compatible?

This is what I am trying to say: Is this natural?

He did what was on the itinerary but made some time so that we could do what we wanted to do.

Is the original sentence natural? 'Keeping to'?

Thanks

Also is it natural to say tailored to our liking.

I would like to use 'keep to' and 'tailored to our liking' how would you say my original sentences?

Thank you so much

"...while keeping to the original itinerary" is correct English. However, it doesn't make sense to say this if the guide actually deviated from the original itinerary, which seems to be the case here.

"tailored to our liking" is correct English.

I think if you add the word "extra" to your suggestion then it helps reinforce the idea:

"He did what was on the itinerary but

Would you as a native speaker say the sentence 'The trip was tailored to our liking'

What about saying :
We did what we wanted to do while also keeping to the original itinerary.

Is that correct?

Thank you
